Karratha celebrates NAIDOC 2015

Earlier this month, Woodside people gathered at the North West Shelf Project Visitors Centre to raise the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islands flags and mark the beginning of NAIDOC Celebrations in the City of Karratha.

The Woodside-operated North West Shelf Project is Principal Sponsor of this year's NAIDOC Celebrations in the City, which have seen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people showcasing their talents through the expression of dance, storytelling, art and food throughout the month of July.

Events have again been scheduled in every town in the City meaning there is an opportunity for everyone to be involved and have their own NAIDOC experience.

The theme for this year's NAIDOC Celebrations is We all Stand on Sacred Ground: Learn, Respect and Celebrate.

The theme highlights Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' strong spiritual and cultural connection to the land and sea.
