ArtRage - FRINGE WORLD Festival
Woodside has supported FRINGE WORLD Festival since 2012. As one of the establishing partners of the Festival, Woodside's support has been instrumental to the Festival's growth and success. As part of Woodside's support, the Woodside Homegrown Heroes has been established to help shine the spotlight on the talented local artists and performers in the Festival.
Australia Day WA - Australia Day Celebrations
Woodside's support of Australia Day WA assists the organization with Australia Day celebrations, which include Australian of the Year, the Australia Day Ambassador Program, and the Aussie of the Month program that recognizes students for personal endeavour, achievement and contribution to the community.
Barking Gecko Theatre Company
Barking Gecko Theatre Company is WA's leading professional theatre company dedicated to making compelling theatre for families and young people. As the Development Partner, Woodside supports the creation of new work for children and engagement with young audiences across WA and nationally.
Celebrate WA - Arts and Culture Award
Woodside supports Celebrate WA to stage the Western Australian of the Year Awards, which recognise the highest level of contribution made to Western Australia. Woodside's sponsorship of the Arts & Culture Award honours achievement and/or significant contribution to the development, promotion and profiling of Arts & Culture disciplines in the State.
City of Karratha
The Karratha Arts and Community Precinct will provide innovative, contemporary community facilities that reflect community needs both now and into the future. Woodside is funding the new facility that includes a 450 seat Theatre for performing arts, an entry foyer as well as an Amphitheatre. Woodside is also funding a Staff Administration Office, as well as a library with local history records and a roof top terrace.
The City of Karratha provide a variety of events to add to the artistic and cultural dynamics of the community including the Moonrise Cinema. The outdoor cinema gives residents an enjoyable family and community bonding experience.
The city of Karratha hosts its own Australia Day Awards to thanks Australians who have made exceptional contributions to their communities. Woodside sponsors the Environmental Award for an Australian who has demonstrated a commitment to raising awareness of environmental issues in the community. Woodside also presents the Young Citizen of the Year, which is awarded to a young Australian who is a positive role model for peers and who undertakes activities that promote the welfare and wellbeing of the city.
The City of Karratha and Woodside as well as Rio Tinto are delivering the Medical Services Equalisation Scheme. The scheme will improve the community's ability to access health care services by providing low cost rental housing for medical practitioners in Karratha.
Fremantle Football Club
In 2016, Woodside entered its seventh year as the major sponsor of the Fremantle Football Club, and our fourth year as the Club's Indigenous Program Partner. Woodside is also supporting the creation of the club's first female team.
As part of our sponsorship, Woodside also supports a number of community programs and activities aimed at providing development opportunities for young players. This includes the Clontarf Foundation's curtain-raiser and regional Gaelic football matches, and the Perth and Karratha junior coaching clinics.
Ningaloo Whaleshark Festival Inc.
Woodside's support of the Festival celebrates all that the World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef environment offers and promotes sustainability and environmental responsibility throughout the entire Ningaloo region.
The Western Australian Youth Orchestra
Woodside has supported Western Australian Youth Orchestras (WAYO) as its Principal Partner since 1991. This partnership enables the continued development of WAYO and assists many talented young Western Australians to achieve their musical aspirations.
Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company
As Yirra Yaakin’s Development Partner, Woodside provides support to the theatre company in developing their training program, Next Step. The partnership aims to build the capability and expertise of Yirra Yaakin and contributes to the resilience and strength of the Aboriginal performing arts sector across Australia.
West Australian Ballet - Principal Partner
Woodside is the Principal Partner of WA Ballet, having become the dance company's first Principal Partner in 2009. Woodside's support assists the company to perform its extensive program of dance, in addition to presenting its education program throughout the State. In 2016, Woodside was also WA Ballet's International Tour Partner for the Jakarta tour.
